Four positions for entrance regulation as needed

The disc offers four functional settings that are easily switched by rotating the disc. Fully open is used during normal operation and during the honey flow, when flight activity is at its peak. The "queen excluder" position (passage the height of one bee) prevents the queen from passing through and also helps protect weakened colonies, splits, or mating nucs from mice, hornets, and robber bees. The ventilation position ensures airflow during migratory beekeeping and hive handling. Fully closed is suitable for transport, temporary hive closure, or specific interventions.

The entrance disc is made of high-quality rigid plastic with a thickness of 1 mm that withstands UV radiation and weather conditions well. As a result, it reliably serves repeatedly over multiple seasons. Installation is quick: attach it through the central hole with a standard screw to the front wall of the hive. The central mounting ensures smooth rotation and easy operation even while wearing thicker beekeeping gloves.

White colour helps bees with orientation

The white finish is not just a matter of appearance. The contrasting colour increases the visibility of the entrance and makes it easier for forager bees to orient themselves, which is especially appreciated at apiaries with multiple entrances close together – typically with mating nucs or queen rearing setups.
