A robust stainless steel hive tool is part of the basic equipment of every beekeeper. It is designed for quick and safe work at the hives – it saves effort when separating supers, helps with frame manipulation and at the same time reduces the risk of damaging hive parts and unnecessary disturbance of the bee colony.
Practical Helper in the Apiary
The large stainless steel hive tool is designed for everyday use. At one end it has a massive hook for easy lifting, at the other a solid edge suitable for prying and scraping. It works excellently for separating hive parts glued together with propolis and wax, especially when dismantling propolized supers. Thanks to the hive tool, you can perform operational interventions faster and cleaner, without unnecessary force on hive components. The length of the hive tool is 27 cm.
Durability, Hygiene and Gentle Handling
Beekeeping practice requires strong, durable and easy-to-maintain tools. Stainless steel does not corrode and maintains its shape even when prying heavy, strongly sealed supers. The smooth surface also allows quick cleaning and disinfection (e.g. by flaming or with a suitable disinfectant), which is important for preventing the transmission of bee diseases including American foulbrood. The large end hook (so-called J-hook) facilitates safe lifting and removal of frames even in tighter spaces, with less risk of crushing bees.
