This board can be used with or without the screen to monitor or diagnose a varroa infestation. If placed directly on a solid floor the screen will be needed to keep the bees from the board.
Keep control of the condition and hygiene of your bee colonies with this extra strong white debris board. It serves excellently not only for mandatory spring debris collection, but also as a practical tool for year-round monitoring of hive activity.
Unlike soft films, it is made from rigid and durable plastic that doesn't bend during handling. The board slides easily into the hive bottom, holds its shape well and lasts several seasons with normal use. The 50 × 50 cm size fits most Langstroth hives; if needed, it can be easily trimmed to size for specific bottoms.
1. Excellent contrast for precise diagnostics
The pure white surface without hatching ensures excellent readability of debris. You can easily identify varroa mite drop (Varroa destructor), wax particles and winter debris. Based on the debris distribution, you can also better estimate how many frames the bees occupy and how strong the colony is.
2. Quick cleaning and good hygiene
The smooth plastic surface doesn't stick and maintenance is simple. Just rinse the board in lukewarm water, or you can disinfect it with commonly used beekeeping products – which helps reduce the risk of disease transmission between hives.
3. Durability even in winter conditions
Thanks to the higher rigidity of the material, it resists moisture and common temperature fluctuations in the hive. The board doesn't deform and remains usable even during long-term monitoring during colony overwintering.
