Cell protector USA - 10 pcs
Queen cell protector is a practical beekeeping tool for queen rearing, introducing capped queen cells, and working with nucleus colonies. The plastic cage reliably protects the queen cell from unwanted lateral destruction by bees and also reduces the risk of mechanical damage during handling. This significantly increases the chance of successful emergence of a new queen.
The greatest benefit is the safe and quick transfer of the queen cell without crushing and without unnecessary stress to the colony. The protector has two practical wings ("ears"), which allow you to simply hang it from above between the top bars of the combs in a queenless colony or in a nucleus colony in a mating nuc. The design protects the queen cell while still allowing adequate ventilation and heat transfer from the bees, which is essential for proper queen development. After emergence, the queen sets out on her mating flight in the usual way and mates naturally.
Use is simple: the cell cup with the queen cell is inserted into the protector from the top (max. cup diameter 12 mm). The protector is compatible with cell cups with or without a peg, and if needed, a standard wooden queen cage can also be fitted over the protector.
