Polycarbonate solar melter will make it easier for you to work with frames and molds you want to paint. The melter is intended for easy processing of the beeswax. On a sunny day, we simply remove the melter into a sunny place, turn it towards the sun, and place it under a slight angle so that the wax flows a lot into the cabinet. Wax usually starts to quickly melt. For the use of melter, outdoor temperatures of 20 to 30 ° C should be available, and after about 15-20 minutes the traction starts and in 25-35 minutes th

Solar Wax Melter Made of Tinned Sheet Metal with Polycarbonate: Let the Sun Do the Work for You

Processing beeswax and boiling out frames are among the tasks that most beekeepers undertake more out of necessity than enthusiasm. It takes time, consumes energy, and often leaves a mess in the workshop or at home. The solar wax melter with a polycarbonate lid offers a clean and simple solution: it harnesses the energy of the sun, saves you work and costs, and you get nice, clean, yellow wax without unnecessary complications.

What You'll Appreciate in Everyday Work at the Apiary

It's not just a "box for frames." The melter is designed to make wax rendering fast, efficient, and convenient:

1. Better Heat Retention Thanks to Polycarbonate: Twin-wall polycarbonate provides better insulation than ordinary glass. Heat stays inside longer, so the melter works reliably even in moderate sunshine and reaches the required temperature faster.
2. High Temperature for Rapid Wax Rendering: Beeswax begins to melt at around 60–65 °C (140–149 °F), while the temperature inside the melter commonly climbs up to 100 °C (212 °F). As a result, the wax flows out faster, and the heat exposure can also help reduce certain unwanted pathogens on the material.
3. Durable Construction for Practical Use: Tinned sheet metal is corrosion-resistant and withstands regular beekeeping handling. The polycarbonate lid is virtually unbreakable, so you don't have to worry about cracking during handling or storage, as often happens with glass.

How to Use the Solar Wax Melter

Operation is straightforward even for beginner beekeepers. On a sunny day, place the melter in the sunniest spot possible and tilt it slightly so that the wax flows toward the collection tray. You can place whole frames inside, or just cut-out comb.

At outdoor temperatures of around 20 to 30 °C (68–86 °F), the wax starts melting very quickly. Typically, within 15–20 minutes the wax begins to flow, and within 25–35 minutes most of the material has been rendered and collected in the included tray. In a single afternoon, you can process multiple batches of frames.

Tip: Temperatures inside the melter can be very high (up to around 100 °C / 212 °F). We recommend using protective gloves when handling the melter and the collection tray.
