Wax Purity and Health Safety

The quality of the raw material is the most important factor for foundation. These foundations are manufactured using traditional and proven methods, in which the wax is carefully cleaned and disinfected. The result is microbiologically safe material and lower risk of introducing unwanted disease agents into the hive.

Natural Appearance of Foundation: Wax Bloom

During storage (especially in cold conditions), a lighter coating called wax bloom may appear on the surface of the foundation. This is not mold or a defect – on the contrary, it is a common manifestation of genuine beeswax. It has no effect on the functionality of the foundation or on the bees' willingness to build. If the patina bothers you aesthetically, you can easily remove it with brief heating (hair dryer, warm air) or brief exposure to sunlight.

Tip for Faster Comb Building

For even building, we recommend inserting the foundation into the frame so that it is tight under the top bar. Bees usually find it easier to build the bottom gap than the top one, and the comb then connects better. Leave approximately equal gaps on the sides so that the comb is built symmetrically.
