Queen Excluder – Alternating Pattern - Cast Plastic, 500 × 500 mm

This queen excluder made of high-quality rigid yellow plastic is an essential piece of equipment for super-based beekeeping. It is precision cast from a durable material with a thickness of 1.9–2.0 mm, which is certified as food-safe. This ensures that honey does not come into contact with undesirable substances and its natural purity is preserved.

The excluder in the 500 × 500 mm format is designed primarily for hives with supers (not only those with a square footprint, as you can freely trim it to your desired dimensions). Its main purpose is to reliably separate the brood chamber from the honey super and prevent the queen from passing into the honey supers. If needed, it can be easily cut to the exact dimensions of your hive – even after trimming, it retains its shape, remains rigid, and does not warp.

Safe Passage for Worker Bees

The design of the excluder places emphasis on the comfort and safety of the colony. The slots have carefully rounded edges, so worker bees do not get caught or damage their wings during frequent passage between the brood chamber and the honey super (carrying nectar up and returning back down). The queen and drones, due to their larger body size (especially the thorax), cannot pass through the excluder and thus remain in the brood chamber.

Clean Honey Super and Easier Honey Harvesting

Thanks to the queen excluder, the queen cannot access the honey super, meaning no brood develops in the honey combs. For the beekeeper, this means clean honey combs, faster work during extraction, lower risk of brood damage, and higher hygiene when harvesting honey. The durable plastic is also easy to clean of wax and propolis, making the excluder simple to maintain and long-lasting.
