Cleaning a queen excluder is one of those tasks that beekeepers are reluctant to tackle. Dried-on deposits of propolis and wax are difficult to remove from the gaps between the wires and take up unnecessary time. This specially shaped stainless steel scraper is designed for quick and gentle maintenance of excluders during routine work in the apiary.
The scraper is designed so that you have a multi-purpose tool in your hand. The toothed side has a pitch matched to metal queen excluders with a wire diameter of approximately 2 mm – in a single stroke you can easily clean multiple gaps at once without damaging the excluder. The smooth side serves as a practical scraper/pry tool for cleaning the excluder frame, edges, or other flat surfaces inside the hive.
The working part is made of high-quality stainless steel that resists corrosion, is easy to maintain, and can be simply washed (for example with hot water when sanitizing equipment). The metal is firmly secured in an ergonomically shaped wooden handle. The wood feels comfortable even in cooler weather, provides a non-slip grip, and allows you to apply the necessary pressure without uncomfortable hand strain.
- Faster maintenance: the toothed profile shortens excluder cleaning compared to conventional tools.
- Comfortable grip: the wooden handle fits well in the palm and makes the work more pleasant.
- Solid craftsmanship: the stainless steel blade is sturdy, durable, and suitable for long-term use.
