The wooden handle is varnished for better protection against moisture and easier cleaning. The end of the handle is cut to a point, so it can also serve as a simple auxiliary hive tool in the field.

For long brush life, it is advisable to remove honey and propolis residues from the bristles after work. In practice, gentle washing in lukewarm water with a little soap and thorough drying afterwards works well. The varnished handle protects the wood from moisture absorption and soiling. Store the brush ideally hanging, or lying freely so that the bristles do not deform.
