selected so that bees could move freely and without problems over the surface of the expanded metal, they did not fit into the holes, but the holes were large enough for all the bees to
fall through. Suitable for use in the production of bottoms, swarm boxes or any products where it is necessary to have a ventilation hole through which
the bees cannot crawl.

Strong and lightweight aluminium expanded metal mesh with diamond-shaped openings is a practical material for building hives and other beekeeping equipment. It helps ensure effective ventilation, promotes hive hygiene, and thanks to its durable construction, it is also suitable for year-round outdoor use.
Suitable for Screened Varroa Bottom Boards
Openings of approximately 4 mm allow debris and Varroa destructor mites to fall through onto a monitoring tray. The mesh is therefore particularly suitable for making screened varroa bottom boards, which facilitate monitoring of the natural varroa mite drop and help maintain a cleaner environment inside the hive.
The opening size has been chosen with regard to safe movement of bees across the surface. Bees cannot pass through the mesh, and when properly finished, they can walk on it without their legs falling through undesirably.
Durable Material with a Long Lifespan
Aluminium is strong, lightweight, and resistant to corrosion. The expanded mesh therefore retains its properties even under prolonged exposure to moisture and changing weather conditions. It is easy to cut to the required size, and its orientation can be adjusted during construction to suit the specific design.
Wide Range of Uses in Beekeeping
In addition to hive bottom boards, the expanded mesh can also be used to create ventilation openings in swarm boxes, mating nucs, or transport boxes. It is useful wherever sufficient airflow needs to be ensured while preventing bees from passing through.
