the bees cannot crawl.

Durable stainless steel expanded metal mesh with diamond-shaped openings is a practical material for building and modifying hives and other beekeeping equipment. The roll measuring 0.42 × 10 metres provides plenty of material for the beekeeping workshop and helps ensure effective ventilation and a hygienic environment inside the hive.
Safe Bee Movement and Natural Debris Drop Monitoring
The mesh opening size of approximately 4 mm allows bees to move safely across the surface of the expanded metal without their legs getting caught in the openings. At the same time, hive debris, impurities, and natural mite drop can fall through the mesh.
The expanded metal mesh is therefore particularly suitable for making screened hive bottom boards designed for monitoring the presence of the Varroa mite (Varroa destructor). The debris falls out of the bees' reach, making it easier to inspect and helping to maintain cleanliness inside the hive.

The expanded metal mesh is made from grade 304 stainless steel, which is characterised by high resistance to corrosion, moisture, and weather conditions. The sturdy material holds its shape well and, when properly fastened, does not warp or sag excessively.
