The Natural Power of Formic Acid with No Residues in Honey
Protection against mites and other external pests is currently a major challenge for all beekeepers. An effective solution is formic acid. It is a purely natural substance commonly found in nature. Its greatest advantage for beekeepers is the fact that it leaves no residues in bee products (including beeswax), and unwanted guests in the hive cannot develop resistance to it.
Innovative Packaging for Even Evaporation
This product was developed by the leading Bee Research Institute at Dol with maximum comfort and safety of application in mind. A common disadvantage of evaporation boards is uneven evaporation rate. Formidol cleverly solves this problem with a double wrapper. Removing the first wrapper reveals a second, inner wrapper with perforations. These deliberately slow down the initial evaporation phase. After a few days, this wrapper is also easily removed, exposing the entire soaked board for a stable and long-lasting effect.
Safe Use and Bee Care
The evaporation board is intended primarily for summer use. To protect the bees, it is essential to follow proper application timing. If daily maximum temperatures exceed 25 °C (77 °F), do not insert or remove the regulating wrapper during midday and afternoon hours, when the temperature and flight activity at the hive entrance are at their peak. Always carry out these tasks in the morning or evening, when the colony is fully settled. When handling, keep safety precautions in mind – the product is corrosive.
