Galvanized Bee Smoker – Large (German Type)

Practical smoker for regular use in the apiary, offering a proven price-to-performance ratio. You can use any fuel from our range as filling – dry forest punk works equally well. Operation is simple and reliable, making it suitable for both beginner beekeepers and everyday use. However, the galvanized finish is not designed for constant moisture – prolonged exposure to water may cause the smoker to gradually corrode. The smoker height is approximately 28 cm, cylinder diameter approximately 10 cm.

Now with practical ash pan:

The internal removable ash pan significantly increases comfort when working with bees. It creates better space for air supply under the fuel, the smoker has more stable draft, the ember bed is easier to maintain and produces steady, cooler smoke – without frequent extinguishing. It also protects the smoker bottom from direct heat and cleaning is quick: you knock out the ash all at once, without tedious scraping of burnt residues.

Calmer and Safer Work with Bees

A reliable smoker is part of every beekeeper's basic equipment. Properly dosed smoke masks alarm pheromones and bees instinctively fill their honey stomachs, making them noticeably calmer. This large model offers sufficient smoke supply even for longer inspections and work with multiple colonies in succession, so you don't need to refuel frequently during handling.

Tips for Longer Lifespan and Better Operation

For the longest possible lifespan, let the smoker safely extinguish and cool down after use, and always store it in a dry place. Galvanized sheet metal should not be left in rain, wet grass, or in a damp bee house. You can add a small amount of dried herbs to the fuel (punk, pellets), such as lavender or tansy – the smoke will acquire a more pleasant aroma and may support hygiene in the hive. However, the smoker does not replace targeted treatment for varroosis against the Varroa destructor mite.
