Langstroth 2/3 Super 169 mm – All-Wood, Finger-Jointed

Do you want to provide your bees with a hive made from natural material with good insulating properties, while also looking for a super that is practical for everyday beekeeping work? The all-wood Langstroth 2/3 super is a reliable choice for beekeepers who demand a reasonable balance of price, quality, and long service life. Solid wood with a thickness of 25 mm helps maintain a stable microclimate inside the hive and contributes to good conditions for colony development throughout the entire season.

Strong finger joint for long service life

A major advantage of this super is the precise finger-jointed corner construction. The finger joint gives the entire box high mechanical strength, so the super holds its shape well and can withstand the load of full honey stores. Thanks to the high-quality construction design, there is no need to reinforce the joint with screws or nails. For beekeepers, this means a stable, sturdy, and safe super for work in the apiary and during migratory beekeeping.

Space-saving packaging and quick assembly

We supply the super in a flat-pack form as a simple kit. This packaging method saves storage space and also reduces shipping costs. The individual parts fit together precisely, and assembly can be completed in a short time with the help of a standard hammer. For maximum resistance to moisture and long-term stress, we recommend using a quality waterproof PVA glue intended for outdoor use during assembly, ideally with a water resistance rating of D4.

Comfortable handling and compatibility with the Langstroth system

Working with full supers can be physically demanding, which is why practical hand holds are routed into the side walls. They allow a more secure and comfortable grip when lifting, carrying, and placing the super on the hive. The Langstroth hive system is one of the most widely used systems in the world, so you will also appreciate the precise dimensions and good compatibility with other Langstroth components. This allows you to easily expand your hives without worrying about ill-fitting parts.

Recommendations for use and maintenance

The supers are manufactured in larger production runs, which makes it possible to offer them at a competitive price. They are not supplied with a pre-drilled entrance hole, so you can choose its placement according to your own beekeeping method. With solid wood, minor cosmetic imperfections may occasionally occur, such as a small edge chip or a surface crack. These cosmetic defects do not affect the strength, functionality, or service life of the super. For long-term wood protection, we recommend treating the outer surfaces with a suitable finish.
