Hydrometer to determine water content

Simple meter for determination water content in honey. The scale of the hydrometer is calibrated directly as a percentage. This the densimeter works on a simple principle of varying density of honey with a change in content water. You simply dip the hydrometer into liquid honey. Higher volumes can be measured honey, because it is necessary for it to be at least 30 mm from the wall containers. This means that it is advantageously used until you have honey in larger ones, eg 5 liter bottles, cans, honey bottles. When using, be sure to check whether the hydrometer has not reached the bottom of the vessel. Do the measurements only when the hydrometer it will stabilize in honey but never before 5 minutes after the measurement starts. Honey should contain minimal dirt, air bubbles, or foam to avoid measurement distorted. The reading on the hydrometer needs to be calibrated for a given temperature honey. Med warmer than 20 ˚C is smoother, so we need to subtract from the measured value the proportion of water in the following ratio: each step above 20 ° C subtracts 0.1% water.
