One-Handed Queen Catcher and Marking Tool "One Handed Catcher"

Do you want to mark a queen bee quickly, safely and with minimal stress for the entire colony? This professional one-handed queen catcher is a practical tool for every operation – it facilitates catching and marking while protecting the queen from accidental injury. Thanks to one-handed operation, you can use your other hand to secure the frame or have paint or numbered disc ready.

What you'll appreciate when working in the hive

The catcher is designed for comfortable one-handed operation, which significantly speeds up manipulation during inspection in practice. The clear body made of durable plastic provides excellent overview of the queen's position inside, so you have the situation under control and minimize the risk of crushing.

Part of the mechanism is a gentle sliding plunger with soft foam sponge, which allows the queen to be gently pressed against the grid. The fixation is stable, yet sensitive – the queen remains calm and you can comfortably apply the marking.

How to use the catcher

The procedure is simple and suitable even for beginning beekeepers:

1. Catching the queen: Find the queen on the comb. Carefully place the open catcher on her and close it into the chamber by sliding (or scoop her with the mechanism depending on the situation on the frame).

2. Gentle fixation: Slowly push the plunger with foam toward the grid with your thumb. Press the queen only lightly so that she is level with the grid – without unnecessary pressure.

3. Marking: Apply paint/queen marking pen through the holes in the grid or attach a numbered disc.

4. Return to the colony: Let the mark dry briefly, then release the pressure, open the catcher and return the queen back among the bees.
