This queen excluder made of high-quality rigid yellow plastic is an essential piece of equipment for super-based beekeeping. It is precision-cast from a durable material with a thickness of 1.9–2.0 mm, certified as food-safe. This ensures that honey does not come into contact with undesirable substances and its natural purity is preserved.

The excluder in the 510 × 425 mm format is designed primarily for Langstroth-type hives with supers. Its main purpose is to reliably separate the brood chamber from the honey super and prevent the queen from passing into the honey supers. If needed, it can be easily trimmed to the exact dimensions of your hive – even after trimming, it retains its shape, remains rigid, and does not warp.

Safe Passage for Worker Bees

The design of the excluder prioritizes the comfort and safety of the colony. The slots have carefully rounded edges, so worker bees passing frequently between the brood chamber and the honey super (carrying nectar up and returning back down) do not get caught or damage their wings. The queen and drones, due to their larger body size (especially the thorax), cannot pass through the excluder and thus remain in the brood chamber.

Clean Honey Super and Easier Honey Harvesting

Thanks to the queen excluder, the queen cannot access the honey super, meaning no brood develops in the honey super combs. For the beekeeper, this means clean honey combs, faster work during extraction, lower risk of brood damage, and higher hygiene standards when harvesting honey. The durable plastic is also easy to clean of wax and propolis, making the excluder simple to maintain and long-lasting.
