THYMOVAR Strips 2 x 5 pcs for Vital and Strong Bee Colonies
THYMOVAR® is a proven and officially approved product designed for the protection of honey bees and hive care. It provides your bee colony with reliable protection against external influences and mites thanks to its gentle composition. The active ingredient in the product is thymol – a natural substance commonly found, for example, in the essential oil of thyme, wild thyme, and also in honey itself. This product is approved by the State Veterinary Administration of the Czech Republic, and beekeepers can apply for European Union subsidies of up to 50%, which significantly reduces the costs of apiary operation.
Principle of Effective Protection
Bee colony care with this product is reliable and maximally considerate. Although thymol has been used for disinfection and hygiene since ancient Egypt, its precise efficacy in protecting bees has only been explored recently. The specificity of THYMOVAR® lies in its carefully designed release mechanism. Inside the hive, it is able to create a long-term environment that reliably eliminates Varroa destructor mites, while remaining completely safe for the honey bees themselves and not disrupting hive activity.
History, Development, and Proven Quality
THYMOVAR® represents time-tested reliability. It was developed in Switzerland by the renowned company Andermatt BioVet AG in 1998. This company, specializing in the development of natural products for animal husbandry since 1988, brought the product to market with a clear goal – to help beekeepers protect and support the condition of their bee colonies. Currently, THYMOVAR® is successfully registered and used in 24 countries worldwide, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, France, and New Zealand.
Tested Efficacy and Results
Since its market introduction, the product has been independently tested numerous times under various climatic conditions. Results demonstrate that the average protection efficacy across all tested apiaries is 92.32%. Under optimal conditions, the product achieves outstanding results – for example, in tests conducted in France in 2009, the reliability reached as high as 98.8%. You thus have a beekeeping tool with demonstrable results in your hands.
Easy Application
We save your time. Application is exceptionally simple and quick. THYMOVAR® is applied after the last honey harvest, during a period when daily temperatures do not exceed 30 °C. The strips simply need to be placed on the top bars of the beehive frames. Another tremendous benefit for local beekeepers is the fact that the product can be easily combined with other common Czech bee care products.
