The RSB designation stands for Regular Twist-Off cap with Safety Button, meaning a screw lid with a safety button. After canning and cooling, the button is drawn inward, making it immediately apparent that the jar maintains a vacuum.

The RSB S variant has the same application as the RTS S in the temperature range of 100–121 °C, but differs in the shape of the safety indentation.
