Thanks to sufficient power input, the heating element heats up quickly and the sublimation process proceeds swiftly and efficiently.

Safe Operation and Hive Protection

When working with the sublimator, always follow safety rules for handling high temperatures. Varroa Cleaner reaches operating temperatures up to 400 °C, therefore it must be inserted into the hive bottom so that it is at a safe distance from flammable materials (especially wax and wooden parts) – recommended at least 2 cm. To protect the hive bottom, we recommend placing an insulating pad under the heating element (for example, a piece of sheet metal or other non-flammable material), which will limit blackening of the wood and extend the life of the hive bottom.

Application Procedure in Practice

To achieve the best effect, it is important to create as closed a space as possible in the hive. Before starting, we recommend properly sealing the hive so that the resulting vapors escape as slowly as possible and are not unnecessarily diluted by ambient air. The sublimation itself takes approximately 2.5 minutes. After disconnecting the power supply, leave the device in the hive for a few more minutes so that the process can safely complete and the device can gradually cool down.

Application should be carried out during lower bee flight activity, with outdoor temperature above 2 °C, so that conditions for aerosol distribution in the hive are most favorable.
