Wooden pine bottom board for Langstroth beehive. The hive bottom board offers space for placing a monitoring tray. Now you have the option to apply aerosol treatments and monitor natural mite drop.
The bottom section features stainless steel expanded metal mesh in a galvanized frame with sufficiently small openings to allow varroa mites to fall through, while preventing bees from passing through. The mesh frame is easily removable. If you replace it with polycarbonate, you'll get a solid bottom board. The back side of the bottom board is secured with a latch on two hinges. The Varroa bottom board can be equipped with a PVC drawer (3mm thick PVC) for monitoring mite drop, depending on the chosen variant. The bottom board is closable on both sides, has an entrance gate on a piano hinge, and a replaceable double-sided entrance reducer.

Varroa bottom board - thanks to the screened Varroa bottom board, you can monitor mite drop across the entire floor area in any season. The screen covers the entire bottom and reliably ventilates the colony even during hot summer days when the entrance is reduced to prevent robbing. The Varroa bottom board is also suitable for feeding colonies during winter. It can also be used in conjunction with a hive box for shaking swarms or brushing bees.
