YANNICK Formic Acid Vaporizer
The YANNICK vaporizer is designed for controlled evaporation of formic acid, which helps effectively regulate varroa mite populations. Using formic acid vapors allows long-term reduction of mite numbers in the colony during development periods, preparation for wintering before long-lived bees emerge, or during periods when brood rearing has ended.
Main advantages of the YANNICK vaporizer
-
Low profile design: Only 14.5 mm high, allowing use without modifications to the hive or supers.
-
Simple evaporation control: Ability to precisely adjust the evaporation surface area from 0 to 108 cm² according to the current needs of the colony.
-
High absorption capacity: Holds up to 250 ml of formic acid for long-lasting and stable evaporation.
-
Easy operation: Simply place on the top bars of the brood box and fill - everything in two simple steps.
-
Long lifespan: Made from high-quality, food-safe polystyrene that is resistant to aggressive substances.
-
Affordable price: A worthwhile investment in the good condition and strength of your colonies.
Technical specifications
-
Vaporizer dimensions: 231 x 216 x 14.5 mm
-
Internal tray dimensions: 200 x 195 x 9 mm
-
Absorption material dimensions: Resin foam 200 x 195 x 8 mm
Design and usage
The vaporizer has a flat shape and is placed on the top bars of the brood box frames, with the evaporation windows facing toward the bottom of the hive, ideally toward the brood. The design consists of a tray with absorption material, a lid, and a holder with a scale that allows easy regulation of the evaporation surface area as needed.
Practical application in beekeeping
YANNICK vaporizers are designed for gradual evaporation of formic acid during colony development, when preparing for wintering, or when it's necessary to reduce mite presence before long-lived bees emerge. It's particularly suitable for use during periods when parasite populations need to be regulated and the overall condition of the bee population needs to be supported.
