Wax Foundation for ZaDant flach 395 × 265 mm (1 kg) – Czech Choice for Strong and Healthy Colonies

Solid, evenly built comb is the foundation of good colony condition and stable yields. These wax foundations measuring 395 × 265 mm are manufactured in the Czech Republic and are designed for supers of frame size ZaDant (variant ZaDant flach). They help bees build combs quickly and cleanly, support comb renewal, and maintain a natural hive environment without unnecessary chemical burden.

Wax Purity and Health Safety

For foundation sheets, the quality of raw material is crucial. During production, the wax is processed using traditional and proven methods, during which it is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to ensure microbial safety. This reduces the risk of introducing unwanted disease pathogens into the apiary.

Foundation sheets are regularly tested for possible paraffin contamination in VŠCHT laboratories. FTIR analysis of waxes is performed. If you would like the current analysis report, write to us and we will be happy to send it to you.

Wax Bloom is a Natural Phenomenon

During longer storage, especially in cooler environments, a lighter layer (patina) may form on the surface of the foundation sheets, known as wax bloom. This is not mold or a defect – it is a common manifestation of pure beeswax. It has no negative effect on the quality or functionality of the foundation sheets. If the patina bothers you visually, you can easily remove it by brief heating with warm air (e.g., hair dryer) or brief exposure to sunlight.

Tip for Straight Building and Faster Construction

For the smoothest construction, we recommend inserting the foundation sheet into the frame so that it is close to the top bar. Bees usually find it easier to complete the bottom gap than the top, which will support even comb construction. Side gaps should be left approximately equal so that the comb builds straight.
