Premium Czech Langstroth Foundation Sheets – Cold Rolled (1 kg)
Give your colony a reliable base for rapid comb building. We offer cold-rolled (cold-pressed) beeswax foundation sheets for the Langstroth frame size of 420 × 200 mm. This is a product from a traditional Czech manufacturer who places great emphasis on raw material purity and processing precision. The beeswax is sourced exclusively in the Czech Republic, so you are supporting local beekeepers and domestic beekeeping. Each 1 kg package contains approximately 13 sheets (± 5 %), which are uniform in both dimensions and thickness thanks to precise manufacturing.

Why Choose Cold-Rolled Foundation Sheets
Cold rolling makes a noticeable difference in practical use. Compared to cast foundation sheets, cold-rolled sheets are more flexible, less prone to damage, and do not crack during normal handling. This is especially appreciated when embedding into wired frames and when working in cooler weather. Beekeepers often attach the foundation to the top bar, allowing the bees to naturally build out the lower portion. Side gaps should be left equal on both sides, typically 1–2 mm, to give the comb room to "work."
Safe Beeswax: Sterilization and Laboratory Testing
Health safety is essential for foundation sheets. Production takes place under the supervision of the veterinary authority, and the beeswax is mandatorily sterilized during processing at 117 °C for 1 hour. This heat sterilization significantly reduces the risk of transmitting pathogens, including spores of the American foulbrood causative agent. No acids are used in the wax purification process – the wax is refined through gradual filtration.
Wax purity assurance: The foundation sheets are regularly tested for possible paraffin adulteration at the laboratories of the University of Chemistry and Technology (UCT Prague) using FTIR analysis. Contact us and we will be happy to send you the latest test results. This way, you are placing only pure beeswax with no substitutes into your hive.
Natural Appearance and Proper Storage
After unpacking, a slight whitening may appear on the surface. During prolonged storage (especially in cold conditions), a so-called wax bloom (patina) may sometimes develop – a natural phenomenon typical of genuine beeswax. This is not a defect and has no effect on the functionality of the foundation sheets or their acceptance by the bees. If desired, the patina can be easily removed by briefly warming with warm air (e.g., a hair dryer) or brief exposure to sunlight.
