The queen excluder made of clear plastic film represents a simple and affordable way to reliably separate the brood chamber from the honey super. It mechanically prevents the queen from passing into the upper supers, while worker bees pass freely through the grid and can store nectar and honey in the honey super.

What the excluder brings you in practice

In super beekeeping, using a queen excluder is a proven step when you want to have only storage combs in the honey super. The result is more organized work with the colony, easier extraction, and higher honey purity, because you avoid brood in honey super frames.

Why clear film specifically?
The greatest advantage of this design is its transparency. After lifting the lid or inner cover, you can quickly check the activity in the bee spaces between frames without having to unnecessarily lift the excluder and disturb the bees. This is an "economical" variant – the excluders are pressed from thinner film, so they are not as rigid as wire or thick-walled plastic excluders – however, they reliably fulfill the function of separating the brood chamber from the honey super. They are also suitable for beekeepers who want a favorable price/performance ratio or need to equip multiple hives with minimal costs.

Dimensions, hive systems, and modification options

We offer multiple sizes so that the excluders fit the most commonly used hive measurements and floor plans in the Czech Republic (e.g., Tachov, Langstroth, Czechoslovak, and other square and rectangular variants). The advantage of the film material is that you can easily modify it if needed – the excluder can be trimmed with scissors to an atypical size.
