Queen Excluder (Queen Grid) – Yellow Cast Plastic 425 × 500 mm

Queen excluder made of quality rigid yellow plastic is available in several sizes. It is made of cast plastic with a thickness of approximately 1.9–2.0 mm, suitable for food contact and regular use in the apiary.

In supered hives (not only with square floor plan), the queen excluder serves to prevent the queen from passing into the honey super. Thanks to this, honey combs remain brood-free and work during honey harvest is simpler and clearer. If needed, the excluder can be easily modified by cutting to the required size – even after modification it maintains its strength. We offer multiple size variants (selection below images); the price depends on the chosen size and the stated price corresponds to the smallest variant. Rounded edges improve bee passage and help prevent wing damage.

Clean Honey and Faster Honey Harvest

Reliable separation of the brood chamber from the honey super gives you certainty that there will be no bee brood in the honey super frames. Honey extraction is thus faster, more hygienic and without unnecessary sorting of combs. Compared to more brittle extruded excluders, cast rigid plastic better withstands regular handling, does not break, does not fray and can handle propolis buildup.

Gentle to Bees and Easily Adjustable

The excluder is designed to offer minimal resistance to worker bees when passing into the honey super. An important feature is the rounded edges of individual openings – they reduce the risk of abrasion and wing injury, which can occur with cheaper excluders with sharp edges. Rigid plastic also allows simple trimming to size according to the internal dimensions of the super (e.g., Langstroth, Czechoslovak, Optimal and atypical assemblies) without warping and loss of strength.
