Fuel for smoker - wood/paper

Smoker wick for quick ignition and calmer work with bees

Do you need smoker fuel that catches fire without lengthy lighting and lasts through the entire hive inspection? Pressed smoker wick will save you time and nerves and you don't need to search for tinder or struggle with kindling. Just light it and you can fully focus on work at the apiary.

Why choose pressed wick

The greatest advantage is immediate usability and pleasant, naturally woody smoke scent. The smoke is not aggressive, so it doesn't unnecessarily agitate the bees and helps quickly establish calm during inspection, expansion or comb manipulation.

How it compares to common fuels

Beekeepers use various materials in their smokers. Here's an overview of the most common options and their specifics:

• Tinder (rotten wood): Smokes well, but it's often difficult to find and especially to light. You often can't do without additional kindling.

• Punk wood: Provides quality cooler smoke and lasts long, but its ignition tends to be lengthy. Our wick can be used as a reliable base for easy lighting of punk wood.

• Paper egg cartons: They're handy and catch quickly, but burn out soon. Additionally, they may contain binders or additives that you don't want in your smoker.

• Wood shavings and corn cobs: Shavings produce thick smoke, but may clog the smoker more quickly. Cobs burn long, but are harder to ignite without a good base.

Practical tip: Use the wick as a stable smoker "starter". Once it ignites, add punk wood or hardwood and extend smoking time as needed.
