Dear customers, on July 6 our stores and shipping department will be closed. Thank you for your understanding, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Honey settling tanks make it easier to pour honey into jars. Clarifying honey means allowing honey to rest in a tank until all impurities have floated to the surface. This process is a method of honey purification based on the principle of letting small particles and bubbles rise to the top in the bottling tank. After extracting honey from the comb, it is strained through coarse and fine sieves. It is then left to clarify, during which even the smallest impurities will gradually rise to the surface and can be carefully removed. For optimal clarification, honey should be kept in a warm room at a temperature of at least 25 °C and insulated from cold floors. Impurities can then be easily removed using the upper side spigot and poured into another tank for further filtering or processing.

Honey Settling Tanks

Honey settling is a natural and crucial step between extraction and bottling. During this stage, wax residues, fine impurities, and air bubbles formed during extraction are removed from the honey. Honey settling tanks help beekeepers produce a product with a perfect appearance, clarity, and long shelf life. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced professional, a high-quality settling tank should be an essential part of your beekeeping equipment.

Why Use a Settling Tank

During the settling process, honey is left to stand for several days. Gravity allows a thin layer of foam and wax residues to rise to the surface, while pure honey remains at the bottom. Using a discharge valve, the clarified honey can then be easily and cleanly poured into bottling or storage containers.

This simple process significantly affects not only the appearance but also the stability and quality of the honey. Properly settled honey crystallizes evenly, retains its natural aroma and color, and is ready for further processing or direct sale.

Materials and Design

Our selection includes settling tanks made of food-grade stainless steel, meeting the highest hygiene standards and ensuring long life. The stainless-steel construction is ideal for working with honey—it does not affect flavor, is easy to clean, and absorbs no odors. Most tanks are fitted with a sturdy stainless-steel valve that allows convenient dispensing with minimal waste.

Sizes and Options for Every Beekeeper

We offer settling tanks in various sizes and designs so that every beekeeper can choose according to the scale of their operation:

  • Small tanks (up to 35 kg): a compact solution for hobby beekeepers and small apiaries.

  • Medium tanks (50–100 kg): the perfect balance between capacity, weight, and easy handling.

  • Large-capacity tanks (over 100 kg): professional-grade equipment with optional heating or double jackets.

Selected models come with sturdy handles, a stable base, and a fitted lid to prevent impurities from entering during settling.

How to Properly Settle Honey

  1. Pour freshly extracted honey directly from the extractor into the tank, preferably after pre-filtering it through a sieve.

  2. Let the honey rest undisturbed at around 25 °C for 1–3 days.

  3. Carefully remove the foam and wax residues that form on top.

  4. Use the valve to drain the pure honey into storage containers or directly into jars.

Beekeeping Tip: To speed up the process, place the tank in a warmer room. Higher temperatures help quicker separation of bubbles and impurities.

Main Advantages of Settling Tanks

  • Removes wax residues, foam, and air bubbles

  • Hygienic honey processing thanks to stainless-steel construction

  • Easy handling and effortless cleaning

  • Durable and maintenance-free operation

  • Perfect clarity, color, and appearance of the final honey

Combining with Other Beekeeping Tools

For best results, we recommend using settling tanks together with beekeeping sieves and strainers, which capture larger impurities during extraction. The settling tank then refines the honey to its final pure form, ready for bottling.
