AnnKas Beeswax Foundation Sheets: Quality and Tradition from the Heart of the České Středohoří

AnnKas Bee Farm, beautifully situated in the picturesque landscape of the České Středohoří near the historic town of Úštěk, proudly presents its line of cold‑rolled foundation sheets. This family‑run beekeeping farm has transformed a hobby into a heartfelt mission and has become a pioneer in the production of high‑quality beekeeping products.

The foundation sheets are made exclusively from 100% pure beeswax sourced from trusted suppliers — beekeepers and certified partners from Germany. The company ensures that the entire production process remains completely chemical‑free. The wax is carefully purified using only water and filtration, without any acids. Sterilization takes place in a modern sterilizer at 118°C for one hour, effectively eliminating all pathogens.

Cold‑Rolled Foundation Sheets – the Result of Careful Craftsmanship

Cold‑rolled foundation sheets are the farm’s key product. This unique manufacturing process guarantees high quality and durability. The sheets do not break and are easy to work with — something every beekeeper can appreciate. They can be stored efficiently and, with proper care, will last until the next beekeeping season.

The foundation sheets feature a cellular pattern with a cell size of 5.4 mm, and you will find 14–15 sheets per kilogram in the frame size 39×24 cm. If you need specific dimensions, production can be adjusted up to 43×26 cm. All manufacturing steps are continually inspected by the Veterinary Administration in Ústí nad Labem, and a high‑quality semi‑automatic press ensures excellent results.

Cold‑Rolling Production Process

Step 1: Selection and Cleaning of Beeswax

The process begins with the careful selection of wax. We use only 100% pure beeswax with no added chemicals. The wax is thoroughly cleaned using water and filtration. The goal is to avoid any additives to preserve its natural quality.

Step 2: Wax Sterilization

Once the wax is clean, sterilization follows. In a modern sterilizer, the wax is heated to 118°C for one hour. This crucial step eliminates all disease‑causing organisms, ensuring the safety and purity of the final product.

Step 3: Cold Rolling

After sterilization and solidification, the wax is ready for rolling. A high‑quality semi‑automatic press ensures precision and consistency in every sheet. Cold rolling protects the wax from overheating, preserving its natural properties. As a result, the sheets remain flexible and do not break.

Step 4: Quality Control and Size Customization

Each foundation sheet undergoes thorough quality control to ensure it meets strict standards. The standard cell size of 5.4 mm is ideal for stimulating healthy bee activity.

Step 5: Packaging and Distribution of AnnKas Foundation Sheets

Finally, the sheets are carefully packed and prepared for distribution.

The production of cold‑rolled foundation sheets combines time‑tested craftsmanship with modern technology. This harmony of tradition and innovation results in products that support not only the health of bee colonies, but also the work of every dedicated beekeeper.
